Star Trek

OMGOMGOMG! I just started watching a cam of the new movie and I am blown away. Blown away! Ten minutes into the movie and I have tears streaming down my face. I have no idea how they did that. I've stopped the movie to write this but I'm not sure if I want to restart it or wait until Tuesday when I'm off to see it in the theater.

Hmmmm..thinking...hmmm...ok, I've decided to watch the rest now but still go see it Tuesday.

I hadn't planned to see it at all in the theater. I was going to wait for the DVD and netflix it. If not for this illegal copy I wouldn't have even considered going. So in this case the pirated movie is actually going to make the movie some money it wouldn't have otherwise.

  1. Dude, see it in the theater. It's SO awesome. I wanted to see it again as soon as it was over. It was AMAZING.

  2. On top of a great script, excellent acting and directing and sfx, my daughter is an extra and is fleetingly visible in three scenes.

    I've got my priorities.

  3. Wow, which scenes? I'm going tomorrow, which will still be today(6/2), with my niece to see it in the theater.

The script really was good. Based on the trailers I was preparing for vast sweeping changes to characters but was surprised at how much calls back to the original series and movies. There were changes but not nearly as many as I had thought.

Also I loled when the guy in the RED jump gear bought the farm.

  4. She walks arm-in-arm with another cadet in an on-campus exterior, and she's in the upper right (?) hand corner of the screen when young Kirk is called on the carpet for cheating. I'll have to check back with her on the other scene. Truth be told, it was hard to pick her out amidst all the cadet uniforms, even at the Imax at Universal Citywalk. She's a skinny, light-brown-haired white girl.

    Have a good time.
