Okay update time.
I quit my job last week. Last Tuesday I woke up and started crying. I cried for a few hours until I realized I wouldn't be able to go to work in the state I was in. So. I called in. I spent most of the day either crying or recovering from a crying bout. I did a lot of thinking and decided to quit the next day. The next day I told my manager I was quitting but I could work the day if he wanted me to. I worked my shift and left for the last time.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do next. Right now I'm just trying to take care of myself. I'm working on writing some stories. I'm thinking about going back to college. If I could get financial aid and a part time job it might be feasible. I might just find a new job but one that I like more than the one I just quit. I have a little time to decide. I can afford to wait until mid January to find a job. Not that I want to wait that long but if it takes that long to find a job I'll be ok. Beyond then I'm going to be in trouble. But I'm thinking positive and knowing that it won't come to that.

8-17-11 I'm getting help

So, the other day(Monday) I was feeling really bad(depressed, hopeless, wrong, failing) and I started thinking, like I have at times, that I would rather (stop being, sleep forever, not exist) than feel as bad as I was feeling. Then I started making plans. I started to plan how I would get my affairs(money, possessions, cat) in order before killing myself. This really scared me.
I realized what I was doing and focused on, well, not thinking about killing myself.
I've felt like I would rather die than keep existing before but I've kept this feeling in check. I know that killing myself is not the answer. One of the pillars of my personal moral code is to cause as little harm to others as possible. Killing myself would cause massive harm to those that love, like or even just knew me. It is not an option I am willing to take. Except for a brief period of time I was willing.
I went today to the Gulf Bend Center to start getting help. I have to go back for a diagnostic assessment. It has been hard to make myself seek help but Monday I realized not getting help was not really an option.
It was hard once I got there to say I needed help. Even harder was explaining how I've been feeling. I told the woman I saw about being depressed on and off for about ten years but that it had been getting worse recently. I had to mention my sister's death which started some water works going. The woman I talked to asked if there was anything that might have caused my depression. I wanted to tell her that I'm transgender. I couldn't say it. I knew I wanted to be honest but didn't feel like I could trust her. I knew that I could trust her but I didn't feel it, if that makes any sense. I had to write it down and show it to her. She reassured me that she wasn't there to judge me or anything bad.
So recap: I'm getting help for my depression/anxiety.

So my sister died last Saturday. I'm not great but I'm dealing. The worst thing is sometimes I forget and then I remember and it hurts like losing her the first time.
I'm getting along with my roommate. Sometimes I feel weird being in the apt. I feel out of place and like an intruder. I stay in my room a lot. I feel bad about staying in my room a lot like I'm being antisocial but some days I can't deal with being out of my room.
I restarted hrt on June 30 or July 1.

Recently I had a bit of a revelation. As you may know I am the assistant manager at my job. What you may not know is that I don't always feel like I've earned it. I sometime feel like everything I'm doing is wrong. That I'm failing in every aspect of my job. I can look around and 'see' that I'm doing my job just fine and the store is not failing because of me but I still 'feel' it. So I put as much effort as I can into the store because not doing so make me feel like a failure. Everything that goes wrong feels like someone telling me I'm doing a bad job, whether or not it's something I can control.
I've learned to deal with these feelings and thoughts. Somedays are worse than others. Somedays I feel fine. Others I cry in the bathroom.
The other day was a bad day. First there was an email about a customer complaint. Then another customer came to the store about a cake we had messed up. And then another one called about another cake we had messed up. None of these complaints were my fault but I still felt like I was being told I sucked at doing my job. I tried very hard not to break down. But I couldn't not break down so I went to the bathroom and had myself a cry. Afterward I felt better for having letting it out.
I bought a book called The Depression Handbook. I thought it might help and if I had bought it five years ago it might have been of some help. Today I'm beyond that book in dealing with my depression. Every tip and trick and all helpful advice that fills it are things I've taught myself over the past few years. On one hand I feel good that I am managing my depression fairly well. On the other hand I'm like, "Is this as good as it gets? Am I going to feel like this till I die?" I wanted to see that the path goes on and instead I got a map to where I am now. When I was done reading the book I threw it across the room. Not a very mature response I know but it was how I felt at the time. I wish I had had some sort of realization about where I was headed, some sort of positive message to end on but I didn't.
I'm just typing sweet nothings to any who read this to let you know I'm still alive.

OMGOMGOMG! I just started watching a cam of the new movie and I am blown away. Blown away! Ten minutes into the movie and I have tears streaming down my face. I have no idea how they did that. I've stopped the movie to write this but I'm not sure if I want to restart it or wait until Tuesday when I'm off to see it in the theater.
Hmmmm..thinking...hmmm...ok, I've decided to watch the rest now but still go see it Tuesday.
I hadn't planned to see it at all in the theater. I was going to wait for the DVD and netflix it. If not for this illegal copy I wouldn't have even considered going. So in this case the pirated movie is actually going to make the movie some money it wouldn't have otherwise.

In Which I Vent About My Day

Title pretty much says it all. I would like to note that I was laying on my back while recording this cause the only light in my room is the one affixed to the celling so the best way to avoid a dark video is to lay down on my bed so the light can shine on my face. I guess I should think about getting a lamp or something. Also the program I used to capture this totally messed up the video/audio sync and it was hell trying to convert it into something my editing program could use so I'm on the look out for a good free video capture program that is user friendly.
